France Télévisions, long-time partner and official free-to-air broadcaster of the Olympic Games, attracted nearly 45 million viewers for the Beijing Winter Games!

Nearly 45 million French viewers*, i.e. 8 out of 10 French people, watched the Games on France Télévisions’ channels, which broadcast 16 hours of live coverage each day, i.e. a total of nearly 360 hours.

Over the course of the two weeks of competition, there were 18.2 million video views across the entire digital offering, with the dedicated “Beijing 2022 H24” channel on France.tv, the francetv sport app and franceinfo.

  • On average, each French person spent 4 hours and 31 minutes watching the Olympic Games (individual viewing time)
  • 4.4 million 15-24-year-olds (65% of this age group) and 21.5 million working people (81% of this target) watched the competitions

 

14 French medals, intense emotion and magnificent sporting feats

  • A peak of 3.7 million viewers on France 2 on Sunday, February 13 to watch Quentin Fillon-Maillet’s gold medal performance
  • A peak of 3 million viewers on France 2 on Saturday, February 12 in front of Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron’s world record in figure skating
  • A peak of 2.4 million viewers on France 2 on Saturday, February 5 for the silver medal in the mixed biathlon relay
  • On France 2, both the opening and closing ceremonies were watched by 3 million viewers.

 

Magazines to relive the most memorable action in the presence of all the French Olympic medallists

  • Every day, the JO Club presented by Laurent Luyat, performed well with an average of 1.5 million viewers on France 2.
  • Every evening, TLS Spécial Pékin 2022, presented by Fabien Lévêque, attracted an average of 1.6 million viewers on France 3.
  • On Sundays, Stade 2 Spécial Pékin 2022, presented by Laurent Luyat, peaked at 1.8 million viewers on average on France 3.

 

The impact of the digital offering with, for the first time, a fully dedicated and editorialized channel, “Beijing 2022 H24”, featuring more than 450 hours of programming on France.tv
